Shyla is a compassionate guide and rising presence in the world of entheogenic medicine. She is Priestess and founder of Dragonfly Temple, a non-profit Entheogenic Church in Southern California. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, she cultivated her artistic roots by attending a performing arts magnet high school, where she studied dance and choreography. By the age of 17, she was teaching at her local dance studio and coaching a competition team, demonstrating her innate ability to inspire and lead. Her transformative journey began in 2017 when she turned to plant medicine to overcome a profound struggle with addiction to street drugs and pharmaceuticals. Through sacred medicines, Shyla found the tools she needed to achieve sobriety, reframe her life, and embrace a more positive path like a great phoenix rising from the ashes. The challenges she overcame during this period sparked her passion for psychedelics. Following life-changing encounters with LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, and ketamine, she was introduced to 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo). Her first experience with the toad medicine profoundly shifted her life, aligning her with her authentic self and bringing her deep joy, peace, and fulfillmentâincluding the realization of her dream of becoming a mother. She completed her Bufo Facilitator Training in 2023 with The Temple Of Eden, and received her certification as a 5-Meo-DMT Integration specialist under Dr. Martin Ball. Last year, she completed her Trauma Informed Somatic psychedelic facilitator certification with The Embody Lab. Shyla is devoted to inspiring others to uncover the healer within themselves, particularly those navigating addiction, trauma, depression, or co-dependency. She believes in the fundamental right to explore consciousness as a pathway to healing and personal growth. As an ethical vegan, Shyla envisions a future with less suffering and environmental destruction. She hopes to foster compassion and unity, creating a ripple effect of love and healing throughout the world.
